Weekend update: Started glassing the interior of the main hull and have the decks tacked together for the amas. I need to start getting a little more time on the boat after work during the week.

Sometimes figuring out how to make parts for the boat is fun. I needed a fiberglass tube to act as the mast base. The tube had to be slightly larger than 2.5" ID. I used a pool noodle with a dowel to keep it straight, wrapped it with newspaper to the proper diameter and covered it with plastic. Now I just need to wrap it with several layers of fiberglass cloth and resin. I should then be able to destroy/remove the pool noodle and have the proper size tube.

The main hull deck is stitched together and on the boat. It has to be tack glued together on the hull to get the shape. Then it's removed and flipped over so I can place the fillets on the underside. Next step will be fiber-glassing the underside. Once the underside is glassed I'll put it back on the boat and cut it into sections to fit around the cross-arm structures.

Boat explosion
With parts all over the floor it looks like a boat exploded in my garage.
Deck panels stitched together.
Trying to get the fitting and geometry right on the rudder headstock. This photo shows what would not work. I already fixed the problem and the parts are ready to be glued up.

More small parts in the works.

Structural members
Some of the small parts take up the most time. I spent a little time last night working on the cross arms structural members. They need to be very precise so the amas will fold in properly. The forward member will also serve as the mast base for the un-stayed rotating mast.
Rowcat has been after me to post a photo of the structural pieces to show what great work Alan did in the design and cutting. They go together like puzzle pieces.

Made a little bit of progress on the small parts over the long weekend. Had two days on the water in boats and one day boat building. The rudder and trimming skeg are shaped and the centerboard box is almost ready to go together. Also have some mystery parts left over. Hopefully Alan can tell me what the spare parts are for.
